Charity pizza raises £30k for Everyman

Monday 28th February

Papa John's Pizza is proud to announce that in 2010 it raised more than £30,000 for the Everyman Campaign.

The company launched the Spicy Meatball Pizza last year, with 50p from every sale donated to the charity, and the grand total of £30,917.50 will now help towards vital research into male cancers.

John Schnatter Papa John's Founder, Chairman and Co-CEO, said: "We are extremely proud to have raised such a huge amount for The Everyman Campaign, which is a fantastic cause worth supporting. We all agreed that the best way to support Everyman would be to do what we do best - create a fantastic tasting pizza!

"That's why we created the Spicy Meatball Pizza in support of Everyman, which saw us donate 50p from every one of the pizzas sold."

Topped with spicy meatballs, pepperoni, jalapeno slices and red onions, Papa John's taste sensation spiced up the fundraising effort for the Everyman Campaign.

The Everyman Campaign is dedicated to stamping out male cancer by making everyone recognise the tell-tale signs, and understand the importance of treating them. By increasing this awareness they hope to raise money to fund life-saving research.

Tatjana Trposka, from the Everyman Campaign, said: "We're delighted that Papa John's has raised such a huge amount for our charity, and this will make a big difference to us. It's great that pizza lovers enjoyed the limited edition Spicy Meatball Pizza and Papa John's customers have done their bit to raise funds for our vital research into male cancers."
