Every-Man Set for Free Check-up Thanks to Papa John's

As part of its commitment to the Everyman male cancer campaign, Papa John’s has arranged for its customers to receive on-the-spot assessments.

Now, customers will be offered a quick doorstep check-up when they receive their pizza in a bid to help raise awareness of testicular cancer.

Testicular cancer primarily affects younger men and, although still quite rare, there are nearly 2,000 new cases a year in the UK.
The Everyman Campaign is dedicated to stamping out male cancer by making everyone recognise the tell-tale signs, and understand the importance of treating them. By increasing this awareness it hopes to raise money to fund life-saving research.

Testicular cancer is 99% curable if it's caught in the early stages. This has led Papa John’s to spend thousands of pounds on recruiting nurses to conduct the thorough examination, so that abnormalities can be spotted.

A spokesperson for Papa John’s, said: ”We have worked with the Institute of Cancer Research for over a year now, supporting the Everyman Campaign by raising money across the UK and creating the Everyman pizza which sees 50p from each sale go to the charity.

“We know that testicular cancer causes around 70 deaths every year in the UK, yet a simple examination can make a huge difference. Therefore, we looked to how we could directly help the men of Britain.”

The nurses accompanying Papa John’s delivery drivers have been instructed to gently feel for lumps, swellings, or changes in firmness. If they do find something abnormal they will inform the customer that most lumps found on the testicles are benign but that they should have it checked by their GP.
