Papa John's founder gives away hundreds of free pizzas
Thursday 14th May
Pizza lovers in London are being given the chance to meet one of the
world’s most successful self-made businessmen and enjoy free pizza while they do so.
To celebrate the opening of the company’s 50th store in London, Papa
John’s Pizza founder John Schnatter will be giving away 100 free pizzas
at each of the four stores he visits on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th
May.
John founded Papa John’s Pizza in the USA in 1984. He sold his beloved
Camaro car to buy his first oven and soon began selling pizzas from a
broom cupboard in Kentucky. 25 years later and Papa John’s is the
third largest pizza company in the world, with more than 3400 stores in
30 countries.

John said: “Papa John’s UK is a key international growth area for our company, and is setting the benchmark in terms of quality and expansion for other countries across the world. The company is performing extremely well in the recession, with like-for-like sales up 8.5 per cent in Quarter 1 2009.”
