Does a Papa John's store generate unwanted noise, smell and traffic?
Our stores generate very low levels of noise and smell. By using state-of-the-art ventilation, we avoid causing disruption to the lives of local residents. 70% of our business is home delivery so very few of our customers need to park up and queue inside the store for their pizzas.
Do Papa John's products require frying?
None of the items on the menus requires frying. The use of deep-fat fryers creates smell and results in inferior quality food so at Papa John's we bake our pizzas and side orders in ovens designed specifically for this purpose.
Does a Papa John's store create high volumes of litter?
No. Papa John's customers consume their pizzas at home, even those who choose to collect their orders. Papa John's team members are still trained to keep their store immaculately clean inside and out.
Does being franchised mean there's less control over the operation?
No. Our franchisees are given enough autonomy to ensure they operate in a way that suits their local area but they must still adhere to strict quality, safety and image regulations that Papa John's enforces through store visits and frequent appraisals. We have the right to remove a store from a franchisee who we believe to be a sub-standard operator and have no hesitation in doing so when required.
Do you have a responsible growth policy?
Yes. Papa John's regularly opens new stores and are sympathetic to the requirements of all those affected when we do. You can read our Reasonable Growth policy online here.
