Papa John's pepperoni pizza preferred to Pizza Hut's

Papa John’s pizza has lived up to its ‘Better Ingredients, Better Pizza’ promise after independent research showed its product was preferred to its largest competitor.

The research, carried out by independent research agency Marketing Sciences, has revealed that more people prefer Papa’s Pepperoni to Pizza Hut’s Pepperoni Feast – with more generous, thicker toppings and a better taste the main stated reasons.

Papa John’s also pulled off a coup by being named favourite amongst Pizza Hut’s own customers, with 64 per cent of those who eat at Pizza Hut most often giving the Papa John’s product the thumbs up.

Overall 59 per cent of all people surveyed showed a preference for the Papa John’s product, and Senior Director of Marketing Simon Wallis believes the results are a glowing endorsement of the company’s focus on product quality.

He said: “When John Schnatter founded the company 25 years ago, Pizza Hut was already a major player but he believed that by offering a superior quality product he could take them on and win – and he did just that.

“That determination to provide the best pizza is still at the core of our business, and we have been doing everything possible in the UK to live up to that – recently becoming the first major chain to use only 100 per cent fresh dough for all of our pizzas.

“We are delighted that this independent research has verified the fact that we are delivering a product that is preferred to that of our largest competitor, and we will continue to develop our service and our pizza range to stay ahead of the game.”
